  • Is Surrogacy legal in Mexico?

In 2017, the Supreme Court of Justice of the  Nation recognized constitutional protection for families formed through Assisted  Reproduction Techniques (ART). In 2023, the court further clarified that surrogacy is  fully legal for anyone with reproductive desires. 

  • How much does surrogacy cost in Mexico?

  • What is included in the cost of surrogacy?

    The cost of surrogacy in Mexico includes legal contracts, medical treatments, surrogate  compensation, agency fees, and support throughout the entire process. Our program  also includes assistance with obtaining your child’s passport and citizenship  documentation to bring your baby home safely and legally. 

  • How long does the surrogacy process take?

    The entire surrogacy process typically takes about 12-18 months from the initial  consultation to bringing your baby home. This includes time for legal preparation,  surrogate matching, medical procedures, the pregnancy itself, and post-birth legal  documentation.

  • How do I communicate with my surrogate during pregnancy?

    We facilitate regular communication between you and your surrogate throughout the  pregnancy. You’ll receive updates on medical appointments, ultrasounds, and the  overall progress of the pregnancy. Some intended parents choose to visit Mexico for  key milestones, and our coordinators ensure you are always informed and connected.

  • What is the legal process like?

    We partner with top legal firms in Mexico to ensure all contracts and legal agreements  are properly handled. Our legal team will assist with securing your parental rights,  completing contracts with the surrogate, and managing the necessary paperwork for  passports and citizenship after the birth. We also have the option to partner with an attorney in the parents' home country to add additional support to parents through the parentage process.

  • What kind of medical care will my surrogate receive?

    Your surrogate will receive high-quality medical care from the leading fertility clinic and  hospital in Mexico. Ingenes is an all inclusive medical community that includes Reproductive Endocrinologists, MFMs and OBs. The medical team will monitor her closely throughout the  pregnancy, and you’ll receive regular updates on the baby’s development.

  • What happens if the first embryo transfer isn't successful?

    If the first embryo transfer is not successful, additional transfers can be scheduled  based on the terms outlined in your contract. This is a common part of the surrogacy  process, and we are prepared to support you through multiple attempts if necessary.

  • How is the well being of the surrogate ensured?

  • Will I be able to be present at the birth?

    Yes, most intended parents choose to be present at the birth. We help arrange your travel and accommodations so you can be there to welcome your baby. We work with  the hospital to ensure you are involved and can bond with your child immediately after  birth. 


  • How long will it take to get my baby's passport and citizenship?

    The process of obtaining your baby’s passport and citizenship typically takes 4-8 weeks  after birth. Our legal team will guide you through this process to ensure it’s done  efficiently and in compliance with all legal requirements, so you can bring your baby  home without any issues.
